Hurry 'N' Wait Dinner
- 1 round steak
- 3 medium potatoes
- 4 or 5 slices bacon
- 1 onion
- 3 or 4 carrots, cut in 2 to 3 inch lengths
- 1 c. tomatoes
- 1 pkg. frozen limas
- 3/4 c. water
- salt and pepper
- Place the strips of uncooked bacon in bottom of a large skillet.
- Cut round steak into finger lengths and arrange over bacon.
- Top steak with thinly sliced onion.
- Peel potatoes and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
- Arrange over the onion.
- Place carrot pieces over the potatoes and top with the frozen limas.
- Sprinkle each layer with seasonings.
- Add tomatoes and water.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 1 hour.
- If family is late for dinner, simply add a little more water, reduce the heat and adjust.
- Let the dinner "wait."
- Serves 4.
