Apple, Cinnamon And Sour Cream Squares
- 1 pkg (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup plus 1 tsp sugar
- 10 tbsp (1 1/4 sticks) butter, softened, plus 4 tbsp (1/2 stick) chopped
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup light sour cream
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 can (14 oz) apple pie filling
- 1/2 cup flour
- None None Powdered sugar, to dust
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Grease a foil-lined 11 x 7 inch baking pan, extending the foil over long sides for handles.
- Mix yeast, 1 tsp granulated sugar and 1/2 cup warm water in a small bow. Let stand for 10 mins or until frothy.
- Beat softened butter and brown sugar in a medium bowl with an electric mixer until light and creamy. Add, in 2 batches, self-rising flour and yeast mixture.
- Add sour cream and 1/2 tsp of the cinnamon. Fold in 3/4 of the apple pie filling. Spread in prepared pan. Spread remaining apple pie filling evenly over the top.
- Place flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, remaining 1/2 tsp cinnamon and chopped butter in a medium bowl. Rub in butter to make coarse crumbs. Sprinkle evenly over apple pie filling.
- Bake for 45 mins or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar. Cut into squares.
