Ham Steaks With Apples And Cream
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 8 None ham steaks (2 oz each)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 large red onion, chopped
- 2 None red apples, cored and cut into wedges
- 1/4 cup chicken stock or apple juice
- 1 cup heavy cream
- None None Mixed baby vegetables, to serve
- Heat the oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Cook the ham for 8-10 mins, turning once, until lightly browned. Remove from pan. Cover; keep warm.
- Melt the butter in the same pan. Add the honey, onion and apple wedges. Cook for 5 mins, stirring occasionally, until the apples are lightly browned. Add the stock or apple juice; bring to a boil. Add the cream; simmer for 2 mins until the sauce has thickened slightly. Season with freshly ground black pepper.
- Spoon the sauce over the ham steaks. Serve with mixed baby vegetables.
