Chicken A La King(Low In Calories And Fat)
- 2 c. chicken
- 1 c. brown rice
- 1 c. regular rice
- 1/2 c. onion, chopped
- 1 small garlic clove
- 1/2 c. mushrooms, sliced
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 c. carrots, blanched and sliced
- 2 c. frozen peas
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 2 c. water
- 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- dash of salt
- Cook chicken ahead and cut up.
- Cook rice.
- Saute chicken, onion, garlic and mushrooms in oil for 2 minutes.
- Add to water, cornstarch, chicken base, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and allspice.
- Pour over chicken mixture.
- Let simmer about 5 minutes, until thickens.
- Add blanched carrots and frozen peas.
- Heat thoroughly.
