Bacon And Cheese Dip In A Loaf
- 1 loaf round white bread
- 2 pkg (8 oz each) reduced fat cream cheese
- 4 oz lean bacon, diced
- 2 None tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 small onion, diced
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 bunch chives, finely chopped
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Slice the top off the loaf and pull out chunks of bread from the inside to create a shell. Place the bread shell, top and chunks on a baking pan. Bake for 5 mins, until light golden, crisp and warm.
- Meanwhile, place the cream cheese in a large microwavable bowl. Microwave on high for 1 min, until soft enough to mix.
- Cook bacon in a small skillet until crisp. Drain on a paper towel. Add the bacon to the cream cheese with tomato, onion, mayonnaise and 1/2 of the chives.
- Spoon the dip into the bread shell and top with the remaining chives. Serve on a platter with bread chunks for dipping.
