Honey Sesame Shrimp

  1. For the batter, sift flour into a large bowl and season. In a separate bowl, mix water and egg together. Gradually whisk into flour until smooth.
  2. Heat oil in a deep saucepan on medium heat until a little batter sizzles as soon as it is added. Place cornmeal in a shallow dish. Lightly coat shrimp in cornmeal, shaking off excess. Dip, a few at a time, into batter, draining off excess. Cook, in batches, 3-4 mins, turning, until golden. Transfer to a wire rack.
  3. Combine honey and oil together in a frying pan. Stir over medium heat until combined. Add shrimp, tossing well to coat. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
