Spicy Lamb Meatballs In Tomato Sauce

- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 1/4 cups dry breadcrumbs
- 1 None onion, peeled and chopped
- 1 tbsp cilantro, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
- 1 None red chili, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- None None Zest of one lemon
- None None For the Sauce and to Serve
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 14-15 oz can chopped tomatoes
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- None None Couscous, steamed to serve
- None None Green beans, to serve
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- In a large bowl, combine the lamb, breadcrumbs, onion, cilantro, garlic, chili, cumin and zest. Mix well and season to taste, then roll tablespoons of the mixture into balls.
- Place the meatballs on the baking sheet and spray with oil. Bake for 12-15 mins, until cooked through.
- Meanwhile, make the sauce. Heat the oil over a medium heat in a large skillet. Saute the onion and garlic for 2-3 mins, until the onion is tender, then stir in all the remaining ingredients. Simmer for 4-5 mins, until thickened slightly.
- Add the meatballs to the sauce. Simmer for 2-3 mins more, stirring gently, to heat through. Serve with couscous and beans.
