Macaroni With Kabanos Sausage And Tomato
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1.75 oz cheddar cheese, grated
- 13 oz macaroni
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 None Kabanos sausages, sliced ( or 9 oz salami, sliced)
- 9 oz cherry tomatoes, quartered
- None None Chives, chopped, to garnish
- None None Crusty bread, to serve
- In a large saucepan, melt butter on medium. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Remove pan from heat and blend in milk until smooth. Return to heat and bring to a boil, stirring, until sauce boils and thickens. Simmer for 3 minutes. Stir in cheese and season to taste.
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain well and return to pan. Stir in cheese sauce.
- In a frying pan, heat oil on high. Saute cabanossi for 1-2 minutes. Add tomatoes. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Toss with macaroni, top with chives and serve with crusty bread.
