Chocolate Chip And Almond Bars
- 2/3 cup butter, chopped, at room temperature
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 None eggs
- 5.75 oz dark chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup ground almonds
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup self-rising flour
- 1 tbsp 2% milk
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 2 oz white chocolate, melted (optional)
- Preheat oven to 300u0b0F. Lightly grease and line a 7 x 11 inch rimmed baking pan with parchment paper. Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold in dark chocolate, ground almonds, flour and milk. Transfer to prepared pan and sprinkle with slivered almonds. Bake for 25-30 mins, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely in pan.
- Use a fork to drizzle melted white chocolate over cake, if using. Set aside to harden. Cut into squares to serve.
