Bavarian Beef
- 1 lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 (12 oz.) can beer
- 1/2 c. beef broth
- 1/8 tsp. hot red pepper sauce
- 2 tsp. brown sugar
- 3 large carrots, thinly sliced
- 3 c. hot cooked rice
- Tenderize steak or pound until thin.
- Cut into 2 x 1-inch strips.
- Blend cornstarch, salt, black pepper and garlic powder. Brown meat in oil; add onion.
- Cook 2 to 3 minutes longer.
- Stir in beer, broth, pepper sauce and brown sugar.
- Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 15 minutes.
- Add carrots and cook 15 minutes longer or until meat is tender.
- Spoon over rice. Makes 4 servings.
