Oven Barbecued Chicken
- 1/4 c. salad oil
- 1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) fryer, cut up
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. chopped celery
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- In skillet, brown slowly
- in
- salad oil, one fryer, cut up. Place in 12 x 8
- x
- 2-inch
- baking dish.
- To skillet, add onion and celery; cook until tender.
- Add catsup, water, lemon juice, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and prepared mustard. Simmer 15 minutes
- and
- skim
- off
- excess fat.
- Pour over chicken. Bake, uncovered, at

- 1/4 hours or until done, basting 3 or 4 times.
- Serves 4.
