Spaghetti Bolognese

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the onion, carrots and celery and fry for 5 mins. Stir in the ground beef and fry over high heat until browned, about 5 mins. Add the marjoram, tomatoes and tomato puree and season to taste. Simmer for 15-20 mins, stirring occasionally.
  2. Cook the spaghetti in a large pan of boiling salted water for 10-12 mins until just tender.
  3. Drain the spaghetti and toss with bolognese sauce. Serve in warmed bowls garnished with sprigs of oregano.
