Seven-Layer Salad
- 1 head lettuce
- 1 small pkg. frozen green peas
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
- 1/2 c. thinly sliced green onion
- 1 small can water chestnuts, drained
- 1 c. mayonnaise
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 2 boiled eggs, grated
- bacon bits
- 1/2 to 1 c. cheese
- Place lettuce in shallow serving pan.
- Cover with green onions, celery and water chestnuts.
- Break peas apart over salad. Spread mayonnaise evenly over top.
- Sprinkle with sugar, cheese, seasoned salt and garlic powder.
- Cover and chill as long as 24 hours.
- Just before serving, sprinkle salad with grated hard-boiled egg and sprinkle with bacon bits.
- (Serves 15 or 20 people.)
