Chewy Pistachio And Almond Bars
- 1 cup blanched almonds, toasted
- 1 cup unsalted shelled pistachios, toasted
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 None egg
- 2 None egg whites
- None None Green food color
- 1 1/3 cup sliced almonds
- Preheat the oven to 325u0b0F. Grease a 12 x 8-inch baking pan; line bottom and long sides with parchment paper, extending paper 2 inches above long sides.
- Process blanched almonds and pistachios until fine. Combine nuts and sifted powdered sugar in medium bowl. Stir in egg and egg whites. Tint mixture green with food color.
- Sprinkle half the sliced almonds over bottom of prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of mixture over nuts, carefully spread mixture over nuts with a spatula. Sprinkle with remaining sliced almonds, press down firmly.
- Bake about 30 mins. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars.
