Hamburger Stew(My Grandchildren Like This Stew.)

  1. In a large kettle, boil the meat in a gallon of water (add more if needed) until tender.
  2. Add all of the other ingredients, except the barley.
  3. Boil 45 minutes, then add barley.
  4. Stir often and cook 30 minutes more.
  5. Remove bone before serving.
  6. Serve with crackers.
  7. You can freeze this soup in containers, if desired. Serves 12 to 20 people.
