Sweet And Sour Pork
- 4 rib or loin chops or 4 servings in cubes
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. water
- 1 chicken bouillon cube
- 1 c. hot water
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. prepared mustard
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 Tbsp. cold water
- 1 (9 oz.) can pineapple
- 1/2 green pepper, cut in thin strips
- 1 tomato, cubed
- 1/2 c. chopped celery
- Brown meat without fat.
- Add salt and water; simmer 30 minutes.
- Remove meat and pour off fat.
- In skillet, melt bouillon cube in hot water.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, pineapple juice, vinegar and mustard.
- (I add a little brown sugar and a sprinkle of ginger.)
- Combine starch and cold water.
- Stir in skillet mixture until thick.
- Add meat to sauce.
- Heat and add veggies and steam for 5 to 10 minutes to get flavor but leave veggies fairly crisp.
- Serve over rice.
- Serves 4.
