Soda Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Lightly grease baking sheet; set aside. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
  3. With pastry blender or two knives cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add raisins; stir in yogurt, egg and 1/2 cup water until well combined.
  5. Form dough into ball with 6-inch base. Place on prepared baking sheet.
  6. With knife or scissors, cut a cross into top of loaf.
  7. Bake 40 to 45 minutes until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely on wire rack for 1 hour.
  9. Preparation, 10 minutes.
  10. Bake, 45 minutes.
  11. Cool, 1 hour.
  12. Ready to serve in 2 hours.
