Egg And Sausage Strata
- 12 slices white bread, crusts removed and cubed
- 1 1/2 lb. bulk pork sausage
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 c. green pepper
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 6 eggs
- 1 (2 oz.) jar chopped pimentos, drained
- 3 c. milk
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- Line greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan with bread cubes; set aside. In skillet brown sausage, onion and green pepper; drain.
- Stir in pimento and sprinkle over bread.
- In large bowl mix eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper and oregano.
- Pour over sausage mixture in pan.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Bake covered at 325u0b0 for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
- Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center is clean.
- Let stand 10 minutes.
- Makes 12 to 15 servings.
