Sausage Rolls
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 None medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 slices white bread, crust removed
- 12.5 oz ground sausage
- 12.5 oz ground beef
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp dried mixed herbs
- 2 tbsp fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, finely chopped
- 4 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed, each halved lengthwise
- None None beaten egg, for egg wash
- None None sesame seeds, to sprinkle
- Preheat oven to 425u0b0F. Lightly oil 2 baking trays.
- Heat vegetable oil in a small frying pan over medium heat. Sweat onion until softened. Transfer to a large bowl. Dip bread in a small bowl of cold water then remove immediately. Transfer to bowl with onions. Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined. Distribute between centers of puff pastry then roll up to enclose filling. Place, seam-side down, on prepared trays. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Cut each roll into 8 pieces. Bake for about 15 mins, or until golden brown.
