Glazed Ham With Grilled Orange Salad
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup dark rum
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 6 None ham steaks, each 3/4 inch thick
- 4 None large oranges, peeled, sliced into rounds
- 2 None spring onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp shredded fresh mint leaves
- 1 None fresh small red chili, seeded, finely chopped
- 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
- None None mixed salad greens, to serve
- None None baked potatoes with butter, to serve
- Whisk together orange juice, rum, honey and mustard in a baking dish. Arrange ham steaks in a single layer in baking dish and turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour to marinate, turning occasionally.
- Preheat a grill pan or frying pan over medium heat. Cook orange slices for 1-2 mins per side, or until warmed. Transfer to a heatproof plate. Add onions, mint, chili and vinegar to oranges and turn gently to coat.
- Drain marinade from ham and cook on grill plate for 2-3 mins per side, or until heated through and light grill marks appear. Serve ham steaks with orange salad, mixed salad greens and potatoes.
