Date And Oat Bread
- 1/4 cup self-raising flour
- 1 tsp all spice
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped pitted dates
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 9 tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 None large eggs
- None None butter, to serve
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Lightly spray a 4 x 8 inch loaf pan with oil and line with baking paper.
- Sift together flour and all spice into a large bowl. Stir in brown sugar, dates and all but 2 tbsp of the oats.
- In a small bowl, whisk together butter, milk and eggs. Lightly mix into flour mixture until well combined.
- Spoon mixture into prepared pan. Sprinkle with remaining oats. Bake for 50-55 mins, until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean and dry.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 5 mins. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and spread with butter.
