Scripture Cake

• 1 c. butter (Judges 5:25)
• 2 c. sugar (Jeremiah 6:20)
• 2 Tbsp. honey (I Samuel 14:25)
• 6 eggs (Jeremiah 17:11)
• 4 1/2 c. flour (I Kings 4:22)
• 2 tsp. baking powder (Amos 4:5)
• 1 tsp. salt (Leviticus 2:13)
• 1/2 tsp. each nutmeg, allspice and cinnamon (II Chronicles 9:9)
• 1/2 c. milk (Judges 4:19)
• 2 c. raisins (I Samuel 30:12)
• 2 c. dried figs, chopped (Nahum 3:12)
• 2 c. almonds, chopped (Numbers 17:8)

1. Cream butter, sugar and

3. Add
4. eggs,
5. one
6. at
7. a time, beating well after
8. each.
9. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and spices.
10. Blend
11. into
12. butter mixture alternately with milk.
13. Stir in raisins, figs and almonds.
14. Bake in greased and floured 12-cup tube or Bundt pan

18. for 40 to 50 minutes.
19. Use toothpick to test for doneness.
20. Cool 10 minutes and then invert on serving plate.
