Caramel Cheese Apple Pie
- 1/2 lb. caramels
- 1/2 c. light cream or evaporated milk
- 3 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1/4 c. salad oil
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. water
- 8 c. sliced apples
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- Melt caramels and cream over boiling water.
- Keep warm. Combine flour,
- sugar,
- salt
- and
- butter.tix
- into
- crumbs. Blend oil
- with
- egg and water.
- Add to dry ingredients.
- Stir until dough forms.toll
- out
- to fit a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
- Combine apples, sugar, flour and lemon juice.
- Cook about 20
- minutes
- until
- apples are partially tender;
- spread over crust.
- Beat cheese, egg and sugar until smooth.
- Drizzle caramel sauce
- in strips over apples.
- Spoon cheese mixture in between caramel
- strips.
- Sprinkletith pecans.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
