Steamed Fish With Ginger And Soy
- 8 None small red snapper fillets
- 1 (1 inch) piece fresh root ginger, peeled, cut into strips
- 6 None green onions, shredded
- 3 tbsp fresh cilantro leaves
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- None None steamed rice, Asian greens and lime wedges, to serve
- Bring a wok or large frying pan of water to a boil. Season fish to taste.
- Line a large bamboo steamer basket with baking paper. Place half the ginger in the lined basket, then top with fish and remaining ginger.
- Place covered steamer basket over simmering water. Steam for 3-5 mins. Sprinkle fish with half the onion and half the cilantro. Continue steaming for 3-5 mins, until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
- Heat soy sauce and oil together in a small saucepan on medium, stirring, for 1-2 mins.
- Arrange fish on a bed of rice and drizzle with the soy mixture. Sprinkle with remaining onion and cilantro. Serve with Asian greens and lime wedges.
