Quick Shepherds Pie
- 1 lb. ground round
- 1/2 c. seasoned dry bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 c. hot mashed potatoes
- 8 oz. sharp Cheddar cheese, cubed
- 1 c. mixed frozen peas and carrots (optional)
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Mix beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, water, Worcestershire sauce and pepper.
- Mix well.
- In 9-inch pie pan, press meat mixture over bottom and sides.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 15 minutes until brown.
- Reduce heat to 350u0b0.
- In bowl, stir together potatoes, cheese, peas and carrots.
- Spoon into meat shell.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until cheese melts.
- Makes 4 to 6 servings.
