Christmas Cake #1

  1. Cream butter, sugar and browning until soft and fluffy.
  2. Sieve all dry ingredients together.
  3. Beat eggs, sherry, brandy or milk together.
  4. Add egg mixture to creamed butter and sugar.
  5. Add fruits.
  6. Fruits should be lightly floured, if sticky.
  7. Add flour and fold in.
  8. Do not overbeat when mixing.
  9. Bake at 350u0b0 for 1 1/2 hours or steam for 2 hours.
  10. Yields a 9-inch round or 8-inch square cake.
