Marzipan And Advocaat Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 325u0b0F. Grease a 10-cup tube cake pan and dust with flour. Heat a skillet and toast the nuts until golden brown. Remove from the pan and allow to cool.
  2. Sift the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and confectioners' sugar into a bowl. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, vanilla extract, oil, and Advocaat. Add to the flour mixture along with the marzipan and stir. Reserve 1 tbsp nuts to decorate and stir the remainder into the batter.
  3. Spoon into the pan. Bake for 50 mins, or until a skewer comes out clean, covering with kitchen foil for the last 15 mins if the top is browning too quickly. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 mins, then invert onto a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
  4. In a saucepan, heat the cream and coconut oil. Remove from the heat and stir in the chocolate until melted. Allow to cool a little, then spread over the cake and allow it to drizzle down the sides. Sprinkle over the reserved nuts and allow to dry.
