Teriyaki Burgers
- 1 (8 1/4 oz.) can pineapple slices
- 1 Tbsp. catsup
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 1/2 c. Rice Chex cereal, crushed into 1/2 c. cereal
- 1/2 tsp. and 1 tsp. brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp. marjoram leaves, crushed
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- Drain pineapple, reserving juice.
- In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, catsup and 1 tablespoon pineapple juice.
- Remove 3 tablespoons of mixture.
- Set aside.
- To remainder, add marjoram, garlic powder and ginger.
- Blend well.
- Add onion, ground beef and Chex crumbs.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Shape into 4 patties.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar to reserved soy sauce mixture.
- Grill or broil to desired doneness, brushing with reserved sauce. Meanwhile, saute pineapple slices in remaining brown sugar and butter.
- Serve atop burgers.
- Serves 4.
