Spaghetti Sauce
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 lb. sausage
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1/4 tsp. spaghetti sauce seasoning (Spice Island)
- 1/4 tsp. bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp. sweet basil
- heart of celery
- 1/2 c. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- mushrooms (optional)
- Brown meat and drain off fat.
- Add all ingredients except cheese.
- Simmer 1 hour.
- Add cheese.
- Simmer another hour.
- Let set overnight, if possible.
