Red Rice Stove Top Or Oven Baked

  1. Fry bacon to extract oil.
  2. Slice and cook sausage in bacon grease.
  3. After sausage is cooked, add vegetable and saut.then, add liquid ingredients and seasonings.
  4. Bring to a boil.
  5. Taste sauce and add seasonings as necessary.
  6. Make sure that your sauce is tasty and well cooked before moving on.then add rice.the ratio of sauce to rice should be 2:1.
  7. If desire oven bake, cook rice to a boil in sauce mixture.
  8. Place mixture in roasting pan with a lid.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until rice is fluffy.
  10. If desire stove top, bring sauce mixture to a boil.
  11. Cut the heat to low after a boil is reached and allow to steam with a lid on it until rice is fluffy.
  12. Serve with fried chicken and Southern potato salad.
