Berry Strudels
- 1/2 lb cream cheese, at room temperature
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 None egg
- 8 sheets filo dough
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 7 oz frozen berries, thawed
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- None None powdered sugar, to dust
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0F. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Beat cream cheese, lemon zest and sugar until smooth. Add egg and beat until combined.
- Brush 4 sheets of filo dough with butter. Top with remaining sheets then fold each stack in 1/2, spread cream cheese mixture, then berries over top of the pastry. Fold in sides and roll up. Place strudels, seam-side down, on prepared tray. Brush with butter, sprinkle with almonds and bake for 12-15 mins, or until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
