Strawberry French Macarons
- 3 None egg whites
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- None None pink food coloring
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, plus 1 tbsp
- 1 1/4 cups ground almonds
- 1 tbsp strawberry puree
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- Preheat oven to 300u0b0F. Grease and line 2-3 baking trays with parchment paper.
- Whip egg whites to soft peaks. Add sugar and a few drops of food coloring, beating until sugar dissolves. Fold in 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, ground almonds and strawberry puree. Transfer to a piping bag fitted with a 1/2 inch plain tip.
- Pipe 1 1/2 inch rounds about 1 inch apart onto prepared trays. Tap trays on a table so macarons spread slightly. Let stand for 30 mins.
- Bake macarons for about 20 mins. Let cool on trays.
- Sandwich macarons together with jam. Dust with remaining powdered sugar.
