Sukiyaki(Pronounced Ski-Yaki)

  1. Slice meat, cutting across grain, into thin diagonal strips (3 x 1-inch).
  2. Combine bouillon, soy sauce and monosodium glutamate. Heat 3 tablespoons of the oil in a large, heavy skillet.
  3. Add 1/2 of the meat and brown, turning frequently.
  4. Add 1/2 of the soy sauce mixture and push meat to one side of the pan.
  5. Add half of all vegetables, except spinach, keeping each vegetable separate. Cook, turning often, for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Add 1/2 of the spinach and cook 1 to 2 minutes longer.
  7. Serve immediately with rice and sauce from pan.
  8. Cook remaining ingredients using rest of oil. Makes 4 servings.
