Sweet And Sour Pork Chops

  1. Combine flour, salt, pepper and ginger.
  2. Dip chops in flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  3. In large Dutch oven or deep skillet, heat butter and oil together and brown chops on both sides on high heat.
  4. Add onions and garlic; cook over medium heat until they are soft, about 5 minutes.
  5. Pour off excess accumulated fat in skillet; add beef broth, chili sauce, cider vinegar and brown sugar.
  6. Stir to combine, bring to a boil, cover and simmer slowly for 45 minutes or until chops are tender.
  7. (It may be necessary to add additional beef broth.
  8. Check the liquid level periodically and add broth when necessary.)
