Brown Fried Rice

  1. Cook rice in a large saucepan of boiling water for 30 mins or until tender. Drain.
  2. Heat a wok or large skillet on medium-high heat. Add half the oil; swirl to coat surface. Add egg; cook and stir for 1-2 mins, gently scrambling. Transfer to a heatproof bowl.
  3. Add remaining oil and sesame oil to wok. Stir-fry garlic, onion, carrot and pepper for 2-3 mins or until soft. Add rice, peas, ham, onion, sprouts and soy sauce; stir-fry until heated through. Add egg; toss to combine. Serve sprinkled with sesame seeds.
