Boiled Egg With Toast Strips
- 4 None eggs
- 4 slices white bread
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- Place the eggs in a medium saucepan; add enough cold water to cover the eggs. Cook on high heat, stirring water constantly a wooden spoon until it boils. This will ensure that yolks are in the center of the eggs when they are cooked.
- Continue boiling, without a lid, until the eggs are cooked to desired doneness. As a guide, 3 mins will give you set egg white and soft yolk. After 5 mins, the yolk will be set as well (hard-boiled eggs).
- Meanwhile, toast the bread, then spread with softened butter. Using a bread knife, cut crusts off the toast, then cut into four strips.
- Pour off the hot water, being careful not to crack the eggs. Add cold running water for about 1 min or until the eggs are cool enough to hold. This will stop a dark ring forming around the yolks. Serve the eggs in egg cups with toast strips.
