Hawaiian Pizza
- 1/4 cube fresh yeast (about 10g)
- 200 g flour
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
- 1 None large onion, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 tsp Italian mixed herbs
- 400 g tinned tomatoes
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 None large tin pineapple rings (about 450g), drained
- 4 slices cooked ham (about 50g per slice), cut into large strips
- 250 g mozzarella, sliced
- 2-3 stalks basil, for garnish
- To make the dough, sift the flour into a bowl with the salt, then mix in 3 tbsp of the olive oil. Slowly pour in the dissolved yeast and knead, or you can also use the dough hook of a food processor. Form the dough into a ball, then place in a bowl, cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 40 mins.
- To make the sauce, heat the rest of the oil in a non-stick frying pan and briefly fry the onions, garlic and mixed herbs. Add the tomatoes, breaking them apart with a spoon. Simmer for about 5 mins, then add the sugar and season with salt and pepper.
- On a floured work surface, roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 13 x 15 inches. Carefully lift onto a greased baking sheet. Spread with the tomato sauce, arrange the ham and pineapple on top and finish with the mozzarella slices. Bake in a preheated oven at 400u0b0F for 15-25 mins. Garnish with the basil leaves and serve hot.
