Beef Salad With Radish And Herbs
- 4 (5.25 oz) sirloin steaks
- 1/4 cup teriyaki marinade
- 1 stalk lemongrass, white part only, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1 bunch radishes, trimmed, quartered
- 1 None Persian cucumber, thinly sliced
- 4 None spring onions, thinly sliced
- 2 None hot red chilies, seeded, thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp fresh basil leaves
- 3 tbsp fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 tbsp peanut oil
- Place steaks in a shallow dish. Coat with teriyaki and lemongrass. Cover and chill for 1 hour.
- Combine fish sauce, sugar and lime juice. Toss with radishes, cucumber, onions, chilies and herbs. Set aside.
- Remove steaks from marinade and pat dry. Lightly coat with oil. Season. Heat a grill pan or frying pan over high heat. Cook steaks for 3 mins per side, until medium-rare. Cut into 1/3 inch slices. Serve with salad.
