Scripture Cake(Bible Cake)
- 1 1/2 c. Psalms 55:21 (butter)
- 2 c. Jeremiah 6:20 (sugar)
- 6 Isaiah 10:14 (eggs)
- 4 1/2 c. 1 Kings 4:22 (flour)
- 2 tsp. 1 Corinthians 5:6 (leavening/baking powder)
- pinch of Matthew 5:13 (salt)
- 1/2 c. Isaiah 28:17 (water)
- 2 tsp. Psalms 19:10 (honey)
- 8 1/2 tsp. Song of Solomon 2:13 first clause (figs or apricots)
- 2 c. Numbers 17:8 (almonds), chopped
- Cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add eggs and beat well. Sift and measure flour with baking powder and salt.
- Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with water.
- Stir in honey and spices.
- Add raisins, figs and almonds.
- Pour into 2 greased loaf pans.
- Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350u0b0.
- Cool and frost or serve plain.
- Let set until cool.
- Slice and eat.
