Beef And Bacon Burger With French Fries
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- None None Vegetable oil for deep-frying
- 2 lbs potatoes, peeled, cut into French fries
- 1 tbsp oil
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- 4 slices bacon
- 4 None bread rolls, halved and toasted
- None None Ketchup, lettuce leaves, tomato slices, to serve
- Combine the ground beef, onion, parsley, egg and garlic in a large bowl. Season to taste. Shape the mixture into 4 evenly-sized flattened patties. Place on a tray. Cover and refrigerate for 15 mins until firm.
- Meanwhile, heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan on medium heat until a cube of bread dropped in sizzles immediately. Deep-fry the potatoes, in batches, until just tender. Drain on paper towels. Cool slightly.
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large skillet on medium heat. Cook the patties for 3-5 mins each side until cooked through. Top each with a piece of cheese. Set aside and cover to keep warm. Cook the bacon in the same pan on high for 2-3 mins each side until crisp.
- Layer the ketchup, lettuce, tomato, burger and bacon in each roll.
- Deep-fry the French fries again. Drain on paper towels. Season to taste. Serve with burgers.
