Spicy Beef Salad With Cilnatro And Lime
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 1/2 lbs sirloin steak
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 None small Thai red chili pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander root
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp peanut oil
- 4 oz Aisan greens
- 1 oz fresh cilantro leaves
- 1 oz fresh mint leaves
- 4 None Thai red shallots or golden shallots, thinly sliced
- 1/2 lb cherry tomatoes, halved
- Heat oil in a frying pan. Cook steak until medium-rare or, or to your liking. Remove from pan, cover and let rest 5 mins. Slice.
- Meanwhile, for the dressing, place lime juice, fish sauce, chili pepper, garlic, coriander root, sugar and peanut oil in a screw-topped jar and shake well.
- To assemble, combine the greens, herbs, shallots, tomatoes and 2/3 of dressing in a large bowl. Toss gently. Divide between serving bowls, top with the warm beef and drizzle with remaining dressing to serve.
