Nanaimo Bars(Makes 16 Bars.)

  1. Measure crumbs, coconut and nuts into a bowl.
  2. Blend and reserve.
  3. Heat butter and 1/4 cup granulated sugar in small saucepan until butter is melted.
  4. Stir in cocoa.
  5. Mixture should be smooth and sugar dissolved.
  6. Blend in egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  7. Combine mixture with crumb mixture.
  8. Turn into a lightly oiled 8-inch cake pan.
  9. Press firmly to make a smooth surface. Place in freezer while preparing next layer.
