Shepherd'S Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 400u0b0F. Cook the potatoes in boiling salted water for about 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan and cook the ground lamb for about 5 minutes until browned then add the onion and garlic and cook for a few more minutes. Add the chili powder, thyme, rosemary, oregano, and cumin and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  3. Drain the potatoes and mash, with the milk and butter, until smooth. Stir in the nutmeg and season to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer the meat to a roasting pan, top with the mashed potato and bake for about 20 minutes, until golden brown. Serve with a garnish of rosemary and thyme.
