Cardamom-Spiced Cake

  1. Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Grease 12 x 8-inch baking pan; line bottom and long sides of pan with parchment paper.
  2. Process flours, sugar, spices and butter until ingredients resemble fine breadcrumbs. Transfer mixture to medium bowl.
  3. Firmly press 1 1/2 cups of the flour mixture evenly into bottom of prepared pan.
  4. Combine egg, baking soda and milk in a medium bowl. Add to remaining flour mixture with nuts, mix well with wooden spoon. Pour into pan.
  5. Bake about 1 hour until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 mins. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.
