Sweet And Tangy Bbq Chicken
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp roasting herb mix
- 1 (4 lb) whole chicken, cut into 6 pieces
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp Tabasco sauce
- Whisk together oil and herb mix. Brush over chicken pieces. Set aside to marinate for 30 mins.
- Meanwhile, in a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, garlic and Tabasco sauce. Simmer for 10 mins, stirring occasionally, or until slightly thickened. Divide in half.
- Preheat grill. Grill chicken over indirect heat for 20 mins, turning once, or until a thermometer inserted in the thickest part of the thigh reads 175u0b0F. During the last 5 mins, brush chicken with 1/2 of sauce. Serve remaining sauce on the side.
