Ginger And Pear Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 325u0b0F. Grease and line an 8 inch square cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter then whisk in sugar until dissolved. Remove from heat. Whisk in buttermilk then egg. Add flour, ginger and baking soda. Add finely chopped pear. Transfer to prepared pan. Arrange sliced pear over top. Bake for 55 mins, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Let cool in pan for 10 mins then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve with yogurt, if desired.
