Apple Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Grease a 9 inch square cake pan and line base with paper. Grease the paper.
  2. In a food processor, combine butter, sugar, eggs, cocoa powder, baking soda, 1/3 cup water, apples and flour and process until smooth. Transfer to prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 5 mins before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Meanwhile, to make the chocolate icing, sift powdered sugar and cocoa powder into a small heatproof bowl. Stir in butter and enough milk to make a stiff paste. Place over a double boiler and mix until spreadable.
  4. Spread icing over cooled cake.
