Apple Chocolate Cake
- 15 tbsp butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3 None eggs
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 2 None apples, peeled, quartered
- 2 1/4 cups self-rising flour
- None None Chocolate Icing
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp butter, softened
- 1-2 tbsp milk
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0F. Grease a 9 inch square cake pan and line base with paper. Grease the paper.
- In a food processor, combine butter, sugar, eggs, cocoa powder, baking soda, 1/3 cup water, apples and flour and process until smooth. Transfer to prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 5 mins before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Meanwhile, to make the chocolate icing, sift powdered sugar and cocoa powder into a small heatproof bowl. Stir in butter and enough milk to make a stiff paste. Place over a double boiler and mix until spreadable.
- Spread icing over cooled cake.
