Asian Chicken Burgers
- 14 oz ground chicken
- 2 tbsp chopped cilantro, plus additional leaves, to serve
- 4 None green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 None egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 None long bread rolls, halved and toasted
- 4 None Chinese cabbage leaves, torn
- 1 None cucumber, thinly sliced lengthwise
- 1 None carrot, grated
- None None FOR THE CHILI MAYONNAISE
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- Combine ground chicken, chopped cilantro, green onion, fish sauce, egg, sugar and garlic in a large bowl. Season to taste and mix well.
- Shape mixture into 12 even-sized patties. Place on a tray. Cover and refrigerate for 30 mins.
- Heat an oiled grill pan or large skillet on medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 mins each side, until golden and cooked through. Keep warm.
- For the chili mayonnaise, mix mayonnaise and chili sauce in a small bowl.
- Spread a little chili mayonnaise on the bottom of each roll. Top evenly with cabbage, 3 patties, cucumber, carrot and additional cilantro leaves. Dollop a little additional mayonnaise on top, if desired. Finish with remaining half of roll.
