Shoo-Fly Pie

  1. In a bowl, mix molasses, egg, soda and water.
  2. In a second bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and spices.
  3. Work with your fingers until even crumbs form.
  4. Sprinkle 1/3 of the flour mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Pour on 1/2 of the molasses mixture.
  6. Repeat with 1/3 of flour mixture and remaining molasses mixture.
  7. Top with remaining flour mixture.
  8. Bake at 450u0b0 for 10 minutes.
  9. Reduce heat to 350u0b0.
  10. Bake 20 minutes more or until filling is firm when shaken.
  11. Cool.
