Chocolate And Peanut Butter Squares
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 8 tbsp (1 cup) butter, melted
- 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
- 2 None eggs, lightly beaten
- None None FOR THE CHOCOLATE TOPPING
- 1/3 cup smooth peanut butter
- 3 tbsp butter
- 5 oz semi-sweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
- Preheat the oven to 350u0b0F. Grease and line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, extending the paper at 2 opposite sides for handles.
- Sift the flour into a large bowl. Stir in the sugar. Whisk the melted butter, peanut butter and egg in a large bowl. Add to the dry ingredients and mix well. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 mins or until golden brown. Remove from the oven.
- Meanwhile, for the chocolate topping, combine the peanut butter, butter and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook and stir on low heat until melted and combined. Stir in the chocolate until melted and smooth.
- Spread the chocolate mixture over the dessert. Refrigerate for 2 hours or until set. Cut into squares to serve.
